Lifespan Inc. (Pink Sheets:LSPN) (lifespaninc.com) is excited to announce that Dr. Karim Quyami MD PhD has agreed to lead the Company’s medical and technical advisory team. Dr. Quyami will immediately assume the role of Chief Scientist on the Company’s Medical Advisory Board.
Dr. Quyami is currently the Director of Centre of Excellence for Surgical Education and Innovation (CESEI www.cesei.org). CESEI is a unique world class technology driven facility devoted to redesigning and rethinking the current practice of medicine.
Dr. Quyami is also Director of Research, University of BC Divisions of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery and a Professor in the Department of Surgery. Dr. Quyami is also the primary developer of several fundamental patents in the remote integrated healthcare management arena which could add considerably to the robustness of Lifespan’s medical delivery model.
Dr. Quyami’s primary objectives with Lifespan will be to apply the knowledge and insights gained in the development of similar and compatible technologies through both his research and CESEI’s to the Company’s current medical testing, collection, evaluation and diagnostic model.

The CESEI facility provides hands-on experiential and online e-education for all levels in health care sectors and expands educational opportunities “beyond the walls” using state-of-the-art electronics, simulation technology, tele-monitoring and tele-mentoring. It also researching the development of tools and technologies related to medicine and medical education. And most importantly for Lifespan, it is redesigning healthcare delivery to promote and implement new tele-medicine technology in the delivery of healthcare through tele-consultation, tele-diagnosis, tele-surgery and tele-robotics.
The Research Division of CESEI is composed of talented researchers with outstanding ideas and projects whose motivation is to develop advanced medical technologies and procedures, transfer them to the real world and facilitate their commercial development. The research being conducted is a collaborative effort involving the faculties of Medicine, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering Science from several world renowned Universities as well as industry partners.
