NXT Nutritionals Holdings, Inc. (“NXT”) (OTCBB: NXTH) a developer and marketer of proprietary, patent-pending healthy natural sweeteners, food and beverage products, announced today that the Company will be sponsoring the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International’s “Spring for a Cure” event April 30, 2009 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City.
The “Spring for a Cure” event is a culinary, wine and spirits tasting event featuring fine cuisine and signature products from some of New York’s most popular restaurants and vendors. The event is dedicated to raising money and awareness for type 1 or juvenile diabetes. Founded in 1970, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (“JDRF”) is one of the largest non-profit organizations and advocates of type 1 diabetes research, providing more than $1.16 billion in research funding. JDRF’s mission is to find a cure for diabetes and its associated complications through the support of research. Statistics show over 21 million Americans suffer from diabetes, and as many as 3 million Americans having type 1 diabetes. Each year, more than 15,000 children are diagnosed with diabetes in the U.S.1
Management of NXT will be attending the event and will be presenting to those in attendance the advantages of its proprietary, patent-pending healthy natural sweetening system, SUSTATM.
