Stocks slid on Friday as data that showed the manufacturing sector contracted overshadowed a stronger-than-expected reading on consumer confidence.

With the market on a strong run since the early March bear market low, investors are choosing to book some gains.

Data showed the U.S. factory sector shrank further in April, but at a slower pace, and consumers felt more confident about the economy last month than at any time since September. Also, new orders received by factories declined last month.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index closed out its best month in nine years on Thursday, gaining 9.4 percent for April on hopes the worst was over for the financial sector and recession-hit economy.

The Dow Jones industrial average fell 64.27 points, or 0.79 percent, to 8,103.85. The S&P 500 lost 6.37 points, or 0.73 percent, to 866.44. The Nasdaq Composite Index gave up 13.75 points, or 0.80 percent, at 1,703.55.

In addition to the contract for production of this equipment, Central has granted PCT certain intellectual property (IP) rights in the designs contemplated, as well as certain discounts to the manufacturing prices, and the parties intend that these assets will be valued and exchanged for stock in PCT.

The initial project will be comprised of a feed flow regulator, rotary (trommel) screen, foam separator(s), light/heavies separator(s), grinders and various transfer conveyors, representing a total financial requirement of approximately $2,000,000.

Once commenced, production time for these units will be about 24 weeks. Units will be built and tested at Central’s Groveland facility, then shipped for installation to PCT’s first plant, currently projected to be in Oregon or Wisconsin. Combining the purchase of the equipment and the development of the plant, the total financial outlay and asset value is expected to be $13,000,000.

Primarily utilizing Auto Shredder Residue (ASR), and operating in conjunction with several Strategic metal shredder/recycling Partners, PCT intends to utilize its anticipated patent pending and proprietary cleaning technology which takes tainted and contaminated Shredder Residue headed for landfills and converts it into three streams of uncontaminated recyclable material.
