The company, through our manufacturing arrangement, has the capacity to manufacture 1050 units per month. The capacity to manufacture is important and allows for rapid growth, but we do not have orders for 1050 units per month at this point in time. The company does not have $50.4 million USD in purchase orders at this time. The $50.4 Million USD is an approximation based on future potential orders and manufacturing at full capacity.

As previously announced, the company is on track to complete our initial UK installations in the second quarter of 2009.

Stocks are moderately lower after news of an unexpected drop in retail sales

Wall Street is moderately lower after an unexpected drop in retail sales in March tested a notion that the economy is starting to find its footing.

The worries over the retail sales data also overshadowed better-than-expected profit reports from Johnson & Johnson and Goldman Sachs Group Inc.

Financial stocks showed some of the steepest losses even after Goldman’s results came in well ahead of what analysts had been expecting. Other financial companies are due to report quarterly results this week.

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke’s assertion Tuesday there have been “tentative signs” of easing in the recession appeared to contain selling pressure after a five-week surge in the stock market.

In the early going, the focus was on the Commerce Department’s report that retail sales fell 1.1 percent in March, the biggest drop in three months. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters had expected an increase of 0.3 percent.

Stocks turn higher as jobless claims rise, retail sales dip, and General Electric gets rating cut

Stocks turned higher in early trading Thursday after mixed economic data and a cut in General Electric Co.’s credit rating.

Standard & Poor’s said it is lowering GE’s top rating one notch because of problems at the conglomerate’s lending arm. GE — the oldest component in the Dow Jones industrials — was one of only six companies that had a “AAA” rating from S&P.

The move did not appear to surprise shareholders — GE shares managed to trade in positive territory after the ratings cut. But the move nonetheless pointed out to the market that even the most stable U.S. companies are on shakier footing in the current economic environment.

Government data showed the economy continues to deteriorate. The Labor Department said first-time claims for unemployment benefits rose to 654,000 from the previous week’s figure of 639,000, more than analysts’ expectations.

The Commerce Department said retail sales fell by 0.1 percent in February — less than the 0.5 percent drop economists predicted, but the seventh decline in eight months.

In midmorning trading, the Dow Jones industrial average rose 22.06, or 0.32 percent, at 6,952.46, after falling in earlier trading. Broader stock indicators were mixed. The Standard & Poor’s 500 index rose 2.42, or 0.34 percent, to 723.78, and the Nasdaq composite index fell 2.16, or 0.16 percent, to 1,369.48.

Stocks are mixed amid Merck’s announcement to acquire Schering-Plough

Wall Street managed an advance Monday after drugmakers Merck and Schering-Plough announced a $41 billion deal.

Big acquisitions tend to galvanize the stock market, and news of the Merck-Schering-Plough deal did help lift stocks from an early decline. Still, investors were still extremely pessimistic as they waited for clues about when the economy might turn around.

Merck & Co. has offered Schering-Plough shareholders $10.50 in cash and just over half of one Merck share for each of their shares. The price represents a 34 percent premium to Schering-Plough’s closing stock price on Friday.

There was still downbeat economic news Monday. Newspaper publisher McClatchy Co., which plans to eliminate 1,600 jobs, or 15 percent of its work force, as it battles declining advertising revenue.

Investors were also mindful of remarks from billionaire investor Warren Buffett, who said during an appearance on CNBC that the economy has “fallen off a cliff” over the past six months. He noted that consumers have changed their habits in remarkable ways.

In midmorning trading, the Dow Jones industrial average fell 12.43, or 0.2 percent, to 6,614.51. The Standard & Poor’s 500 index rose 0.69, or 0.1 percent, to 684.07, while the Nasdaq composite index fell 2.92, or 0.2 percent, to 1,290.93.
